Oscars 2017: On the red carpet

Beyond the intoxicating sparkle and glitz of the red carpet, the Academy Awards is about one simple thing - taking home a coveted Oscar.
And it seems that fact proved an inspiration for the women of Hollywood, at least when it came to picking out their gowns for Sunday's ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
From Jessica Biel's glimmering Kaufman Franco creation to Dakota Johnson's golden Gucci creation, the iconic statuette's influence was obvious.
