Beyond the intoxicating
sparkle and glitz of the red carpet, the Academy
Awards is about one simple thing - taking home a coveted
Oscar.
And it seems that fact inspired the women of Hollywood, at least when it
came to picking out their gowns for Sunday's ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in
Los Angeles.
From Jessica Biel's glimmering Kaufman Franco creation to Dakota
Johnson's golden Gucci gown, the iconic statuette's influence was obvious.
Indeed even Emma Stone - eventual Best Actress winner for the musical La
La Land - chose the metallic shade for her fringed flapper-style custom-made Givenchy
Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci gown.
