Mel B. is calling it quits on her marriage of almost ten years.
HipHollywood can confirm that the singer filed for divorce on Monday from husband, Stephen Belafonte. The Los Angeles Superior Court tells us that the former Spice Girls singer cited irreconcilable differences for the cause of their split.
The couple shares a 5-year-old daughter together, whom B is seeking joint custody.
News of the split comes as a complete shock, especially because just last month, the beauty praised her husband on Instagram for being her rock.
“My baby boo @stephenthinks11 we have been through everything that would normally tear couples apart and we have come out on the other side stronger,” she wrote. “You loved me before I even new how to really love myself,you are my world honey and let’s not forget you are abit of a dickhead too.”
Mel B.’s divorce filing also comes during an emotional time for the star. Two weeks ago, the 41-year-old’s father passed away after a long battle with cancer.
