One African footballer is in big trouble with his wife after making a blunder live on TV.
Ghanaian striker Mohammed Anas had been awarded the man of the match award during his club, Free State Stars match against Ajax Cape Town which ended 2-2 on Friday, March 17.
Anas had scored a brace for his club in the South African league match thus earning the award.
But the footballer later made a costly mistake during the post-game interview when he thanked his wife and girlfriend for his success.
On realising his mistake, Anas stammered and later apologised to the wife clarifying that he had only meant to thank her only.
''I appreciate my fans also. My wife and my girlfriend — uh, I mean my wife — yeah, sorry to say. [laughs nervously] I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, my wife ... I love you so much. I love so much from my heart. So, let’s keep on supporting me,'' Anas said.
