His ballyhooed boxing match with Chris
Brown is now a sideshow to his very real fight to stay out of jail.
Soulja Boy was
slapped with two felony gun charges in Los Angeles Monday after cops found an
illegal assault rifle and a stolen handgun inside his Studio City house during
a probation raid, prosecutors said.
He's facing more
than four years in state prison if convicted as charged.
The rapper -
who's been feuding with Brown because he "liked" an Instagram photo
of Brown's ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran a few weeks ago - was charged with
unlawful possession of a Mini Draco AR-I5 assault weapon and possession of a
Glock 21 handgun in violation of probation.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney
also charged him with a misdemeanor count of receiving a stolen Glock 21.
The .45 caliber
handgun had been reported stolen from a Huntington Beach police vehicle, prosecutors
said.
The 26-year-old
singer, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, pleaded not guilty at his
arraignment Monday and is due back in court Feb. 28.
