'Gardener is found dead alongside his wife and son' on a double bed together in a burned out cottage after he failed to arrive for work

Bodies of man, woman and child found in Surrey cottage

The victims have been named locally as Tiago and Adriana Nunes, and their son, also called Tiago, seven, who died as the fire ripped through the isolated property on Trumpet Hill Road near Reigate, Surrey. The major fire in one of the county's most affluent lanes was only discovered when Mr Nunesfailed to arrive for work and colleagues went to check on him, a neighbour said today. The farm at Little Santon Farm in Reigate, Surrey, where the burnt cottage sits is owned by Adrian and Sara Smart, according to the local paper. They called the emergency services who found three dead in the destroyed cottage on a private road at around 11am yesterday morning.A blue tent was erected at the scene today, suggesting the bodies are still inside. A neighbour who had met Tiago, the man believed to have died in the fire, said he was a gardener and that the couple are believed to be Portuguese. The mother killed in the blaze is understood to have been a cleaner called Adriana, who worked in the village of Betchworth. The son is believed to have been a pupil at nearby North Downs Primary School.
