Donald Trump arrives at the Capitol for his swearing in as the 45th President of the United States

President Obama and Donald Trump are pictured above leaving the White House Friday morning on their way to the Inauguration

Donald Trump arrived at the Capitol Building Friday morning for his swearing in as the 45th President of the United States to chants of 'USA! USA! USA!'
The President-elect spent the morning attending church and meeting with outgoing President Obama as VIPs filled into the stands for the inauguration.
The Obamas warmly greeted the Trumps on the steps of the White House, bringing a large gift box from Tiffany's which Melania handed to first lady Michelle.
As the two couples were meeting, the president-elect's family, former presidents, the Supreme Court justices and Congressman started filing into the stands outside the Capitol Building to see the ceremony - including Trump's rival Hillary Clinton.
Clinton is attending the ceremony with her husband, former President Bill Clinton. As is tradition, all living presidents attend the inauguration. The only former president missing the ceremony today is George H.W. Bush, who is hospitalized along with his wife Barbara in Texas.
Former Secretary of State Clinton wore an all-white outfit - perhaps a subtle nod to the Suffragettes. If she had won the election, Clinton would have been the first female American president.

Before Mr Trump arrived at the White House, the Obama shared a sweet kiss - one of their last moments as president and first lady
