RIP: Famed Physicist Stephen Hawking Dead at 76

The great Physicist, cosmetologist, author and genius Stephen Hawking passed away early Wednesday at his home in Cambridge, England. He was 76.

Hawking, below, is pictured receiving the congressional Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honour, from former U.S President Barack Obama during a ceremony in the East room of the White House on August 12, 2009.

Hawking is the brain behind the groundbreaking book about relativity, blackk holes, and the cosmos. His knowledge about mysteries of deep space inspired children around the world.

Hawking lost his mobility due to a battle with the rare neurological condition Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), which left him confined to a wheel chair and unable to speak on his 20s.

One of his most memorable quotes is "Although i cannot move and i have to speak through a computer, in my mind i am free."
