Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Officially Announce Their Engagement

Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle posed during an official photocall to announce their engagement at The Sunken Gardens at Kensington Palace on Monday, November 27 in London, England. Harry’s father, Prince Charles, announced the engagement in a statement early Monday.
Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, have been a couple officially since November 2016 and are due to marry in Spring 2018. They will reside in his cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace in London.

Ms. Markle’s parents Mr. Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland wished the couple “a lifetime of happiness.”

“We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry,” they said in a statement released by Kensington Palace. “Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents.

Harry and Meghan’s engagement comes after the actress opened up about her relationship with the prince in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine earlier this year, in which she described their romance as a traditional “love story”.

According to Us Weekly magazine, Harry used diamonds from a brooch previously owned by his late mother, Princess Diana, to craft an entirely unique engagement ring for his new fiancée.

Harry, whose given name is Henry, is fifth in line to the British throne. Those ahead of him include his father, Prince Charles, his brother William, and his nephew Prince George, 4, and niece Princess Charlotte, 2.

Harry will be pushed back further to sixth in line after Prince William’s wife, Kate, gives birth to their third child next spring.

“His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle. The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.”

“His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents.”

Kensington Palace also announced Harry’s royal engagement to the ‘Suits’ actress early Monday on Twitter.com.

The announcement followed months of speculation about Harry and Meghan, who quit the TV series ‘Suits’ and moved to London recently.

The wedding ceremony is set to take place next Spring.

Kensington Palace tweeted: “Ms. Markle’s parents Mr. Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland [pictured below] have wished the couple ‘a lifetime of happiness.'”

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. In some cases, however, you can't help but be speechless.

After hearing all the fabulous details of Serena Williams' wedding to Alexis OhanianThursday night in New Orleans, we knew we would be in for a treat when the official photos surfaced.

Thanks to Vogue, our dreams came true when the publication shared the first pictures from the ceremony.

Fans got to admire the bride's dress—a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen princess gown—that totally impressed her husband and Reddit co-founder.

"I flew to London to meet with Sarah and ended up falling in love with the ball gown silhouette, which is completely the opposite of what I ever thought I would choose for myself," the bride told Vogue. "I loved the idea of doing a really spectacular ball gown, and it has turned out to be such an incredibly special piece."

As for that star-studded guest list, fans are finally able to get a good look at Kim Kardashian, Kelly Rowland, Beyoncé and more guests' wedding day looks.

According to Vogue, everyone was able to watch a short video that told the story of Serena and Alexis' relationship. As for the seating, the bride was hoping for a fashion-show feel.

"I wanted the whole thing to be as nontraditional as possible," Serena explained to the publication. "We did sofas instead of chairs, with everything facing the aisle instead of the altar."

Serena Williams is a married woman!

The 36-year-old tennis pro and Alexis Ohanian said "I do" in a gorgeous Beauty and the Beast-themed wedding at Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans on Thursday.

The lovely couple was surrounded by their closest family and friends, including their adorable 2-month-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

Guests at the ceremony "were expected to dress to the theme,” a source tells ET.

Among the attendees were Beyonce, Eva Longoria, Ciara, Lala, Kelly Rowland and Serena's sister, Venus. The source also tells ET that upon arrival, the guests were greeted with the song "Be Our Guest" and drinks before the ceremony.

Serena also did a dress change before the reception.

The night before, the lovebirds held their rehearsal dinner at Meril restaurant. The source also reveals to ET that the day after their wedding, the couple and their guests will have "a full-blown brunch at the Ace Hotel with a DJ, games and recovery bar."

Mother shocked to learn her son’s face can unlock her $1,000 iPhone X

Apple’s advanced Face ID technology is a colossal failure. The company overhyped this feature to such a degree that hundreds of people stood in lines for hours to pay $1,000 for the new iPhone X.

Face ID uses a biometric 3D authentication facial recognition feature to unlock the phone by scanning the owner’s face multiple times.

But iPhone X owners are finding out that the feature can be defeated by anything from a paper mask to their own children.

Staten Island mom Sana Sherwani posted a video showing her 10-year-old son, Ammar, unlocking her iPhone X by simply glancing at it for a few seconds. The video has already garnered over 800,000 views on YouTube.com.

Ammar resembles his mother, but Apple claims there are numerous differences that Face ID should detect.

“When my wife and I received our iPhone X, our 10-year-old son walked in anxious to get his hands on the new iPhone X,” Attaullah Malik wrote on YouTube. “Right away my wife declared that he was not going to access her phone. Acting exactly as a kid would do when asked to not do something, he picked up her phone and with just a glance got right in.”

Mashable blog also ran a test using a mask that tricked the iPhone X’s Face ID.

The Wall Street Journal‘s Joanna Stern fooled the technology with masks, costumes and her eight year old.

Face ID fared no better with biological twins who are able to unlock the phone by just glancing at it.

But Apple insists the probability of another person unlocking your phone just by looking at it is just 1 in 1,000,000.

The company is not offering refunds for the $1,000 bricks.

Serena Williams Set to Wed Fiancé This Week

The pre-nup is signed, and Serena Williams is set to wed the father of her child this week. Serena, 39, and her fiancé Aexis Ohanian, 34, will tie the knot in New Orleans this Thursday, Nov. 16.

Serena and Alexis are parents to 11-week-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., who already has her own Instagram account.

Serena and Alexis will wed in an intimate ceremony at New Orleans’ Contemporary Arts Center, according to the New York Post‘s gossip column Page Six.

5 dead after shooting at elementary school in Northern California; students airlifted to hospitals

At least five people are dead following a shooting at multiple locations in Tehama County including a local elementary school, where at least two children were wounded.

Authorities described a chaotic scene in which a gunman appear to pick target randomly in the rural Northern California county. They said the incident appears to have begun as “domestic violence incident” but did not provide further details.

The gunman was fatally shot by law enforcement deputies. His name has not been released. The Tehama County Sheriff’s Department said they were dealing with at least five separate crime scenes and were try try to assess the number of casualties.

Authorities said the shooting occurred around 8 a.m. in Rancho Tehama, near Red Bluff, about 120 miles northwest of Sacramento.

Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston did not have a total number of victims, but said that “a number” of students had been medically evacuated from the scene.

“I know that we have [airlifted] a number of students,” he told reporters. “I know that we have children that were attending school in a safe location at this time.”

Officials said the Rancho Tehama area remains on lockdown.

Nearby residents and business owners said they heard at least 100 gunshots.

“I thought this only happens to places like L.A. or New York,” said Jose Garcia, owner of La Fortune Convenience, told the Los Angeles Times.

Coy Ferreira, a parent at the school, told KRCR-TV that he heard a series of gunshots through a classroom window and saw one young boy shot in the foot and chest and a second student shot in the arm. Both were alert and conscious, he said.

The owner of a nearby cafe, Coffee Addiction, told The Times that she called 911 after hearing gunfire and screaming at the elementary school.

The woman, who identified herself only as Tiffany, said she heard about 100 rounds fired from what sounded like multiple guns.

The business owner said she and her husband and their four children moved to the area from Redding about seven years ago. She said that they have always felt safe.

“It’s a great community,” she said. “I am hoping it doesn’t get some kind of bad rap because of one person in one area.”

Rancho Tehama has a population of roughly 3,500 people, she said.

Kanye West Returns to the Stage Following Mental Breakdown

Kanye West returned to the stage for the first time since his mental breakdown nearly a year ago. Rapper Kid Cudi surprised his fans by bringing out the 40-year-old music producer at a concert in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois.

The two rappers teamed up to perform “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1.” at the Aragon Ballroom.

The track is off Kanye’s critically acclaimed Life of Pablo album, which he was promoting on tour when he suffered a breakdown and was admitted to the hospital.

Kanye’s last concert was November, 2016 in Sacramento, California, where he arrived late and performed for just 15 minutes before interrupting his set to attack former friends Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce.

Jay-Z would later say he missed “the old Kanye”.

Saturday night’s performance with Kid Cudi also marked the official end of the two rapper’s 2016 feud, which ended with Cudi entering rehab for depression and suicidal ideations.

8 DEAD, 12 WOUNDED IN ‘COWARDLY ACT OF TERROR IN MANHATTAN

8 people are confirmed dead and 12 injured when a man plowed his truck into pedestrians and cyclists on a Manhattan sidewalk on Tuesday. A Florida man is in custody.

The Middle Eastern man plowed a rental truck onto a busy bike path striking about 20 runners and cyclists in lower Manhattan.

The carnage ended when the truck crashed into a school bus. The crash disabled the truck. 2 children were reportedly injured in the crash.

The man exited the truck armed with a pellet fun and a paint gun and yelled “Allahu Akbar” (Arabic for God is great).

While running through a parking lot, the man was shot and wounded by a NYPD officer.

The 20-year-old man, who was shot in the leg, immigrated to the U.S. from a terrorist-linked country. The man is listed at Bellevue Hospital in “grave condition.”

New York is a favored target of terrorists. Witnesses said they initially thought the carnage was a Halloween prank.

Videos from the scene shows mangled bicycles on a bike path.

Police say the crime scene runs about 20 blocks along the West Side Highway, near the One World Trade Center.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio called the tragedy a “cowardly act of terror” during a press conference today.

Police say the annual Halloween parade will continue tonight as planned in lower Manhattan. A million people are expected to attend.
